Konundrum (2024) is a ten minute animation film, made with support from Kulturdirektoratet.
We follow Jostein Leland who is unwillingly moving from Oslo to Kristiansand. To distract himself from reality he sends a voice note to his animator friend Espen Meling Sele, where he pitches a film idea.
The story then follows three different standalone narratives, as Jostein seemingly improvises on the spot, discarding one idea for the other. The film itself is made in realtime as Jostein explains what he is imagining. As Espen gradually loses his mind and patience, Jostein seems to come to terms with his idea and accept his new reality in a new town.
Konundrum is recently submitted to several film festivals.
